BlackLine Magazine
At BlackLine, we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and belonging every day, and we strive to build a culture that lifts everyone up. June is Pride Month, a month dedicated to the uplifting of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) voices, the celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, history, and the support of LGBTQ+ rights.
One of the many ways BlackLiners support each other is through our employee resource groups, including OPEN (Out Professional Engagement Network). OPEN’s goals are to increase awareness of and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community through support, outreach, and allyship at BlackLine and beyond. Members of the group organize their activities around four key pillars:
Community—providing opportunities for BlackLiners to meet and support each other
Education—offering tools and resources for everyone (members and non-members) on workplace-relevant LGBTQ+ topics
Recruitment—attending LGBTQ+ conferences and recruiting events
Outreach—partnering with organizations that champion LGBTQ+ causes
OPEN has provided BlackLiners with a safe space to ask questions and learn. Allies better understand what it means to support people who may identify differently from themselves. And both employees who identify as LGBTQ+ and those who don’t have had the opportunity to improve their ability to work together, foster trust, and form deeper relationships.
Pride is a month for reflection and remembrance, but it’s also a month of celebrations. Throughout June, BlackLine employees around the world participated in events like the Pride Parade in London (commemorating 50 years since the first Pride took place in the UK), a virtual 5K Challenge, online learning sessions, and more.
In addition to our worldwide employee events and celebrations, BlackLine is a proud sponsor of the Lesbians Who Tech & Allies Pride Summit. LWT is the largest community of LGBTQ+ women, non-binary, and trans individuals (and the people who support them) in or around tech. Over 5,000 women and non-binary people in tech attend the summit each year, making it the largest professional LGBTQ+ event in the world.
And, to celebrate National Coming Out Day, and in support of LGBTQ+ awareness, BlackLiners gathered for an open conversation about belonging. But first ... they danced!
BlackLine is proud to offer opportunities to learn more about Pride and the LGBTQI+ community, connect with fellow BlackLiners, and engage in conversations. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for the next step in your career, we think you’ll love it here. Check out our openings around the world—including remote and hybrid positions to fit your career goals.
